Missouri Market Development Program: Fiscal Year 2002 Technical Assistance Projects

During Fiscal Year 2002, the Missouri Market Development Program completed 17 technical assistance projects in the Missouri manufacturing community through our partner, Missour Enterprise. These projects assisted small and mid-sized manufacturers through customized programs tailored to the company's individual needs. Positive results were reductions in cost expenditures, diverted waste streams, job creation and returning resources to Missouri markets.

Scott Young Resources (St. Joseph) received assistnace in assembling manufacturing options aimed at improving processing of a new mop head designed to be made from recovered textiles.
Innovative Enterprise, Inc.
Innovative Enterprise (Washington) received assistance in examining and identifying best processes for manufacturing structural components using recovered paper.
EZ Waste Disposal
EZ Waste Disposal (Lebanon) received assistance in examining the feasibility of using compartmentalized aerobic composter technology for reducing sludge and municipal waste into compost.
Sharon's Crafts
Sharon's Crafts (Ellington) received assistance in determining the structural integrity of recycled plastic for use in the production of loading ramps.
Waste Fabric Reuse - Phase I
Waste Fabric Reuse (statewide) examined textile waste streams to build a network for the reuse of materials to reduce landfilling.
Fascination With Imagination
Fascination With Imagination (Richland) received assistance in examining products that could be made from recovered vinyl.
Perry County Industrial Development Authority
Perry County Industrial Development Authority (Perryville) received assistance in evaluating the use of waste sawdust as feedstock in the production of strawboard.

H and H Recycling (Jefferson City) received assistance in determining the marketability of regrind concrete in construction projects.
Canoak USA
Canoak USA received assistance in determining the feasibility of using sawdust as a partial replacement for salt and other chemicals in road deicing and anti-icing.

Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council
The Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council (statewide) received assistance in examining markets for residue remaining after a soy resin has been used to reduce foam waste.

Tiro Block (Kansas City) received assistance in examining testing facilities to determine the sound absorbing properties of a product manufactured with recovered tires.
