Listed here are Missouri's "large fossil-fired plants," defined as generating facilities fueled primarily by coal, oil or natural gas that generated at least 20,000 MW in 2000.

Plants are listed alphabetically under the utilities that own and operate them. An information sheet is available for each utility and plant listed here.

Several of the 12 utilities listed here own and operate additional power plants in Missouri - for example, small fossil-fired plants, nuclear plants or hydroelectric plants. The List of Electric Utility Power Plants in Missouri PDF provides basic data for all the utility power plants operated in Missouri, sorted by total generation in 2000.
