Water Protection Program
Missouri Water Protection Forum
Water Classification Workgroup
Description: This group will assist the department in evaluating the need for greater regulatory processes for protection of wetlands and unclassified waters. The group will also identify the beneficial uses existing in and on these waters and establishes the criteria for protecting those uses. The new criteria should better reflect the diversity in biological communities in Missouri's streams.
Timeline: No specific deadline has been developed for this task, however, the first two issues were identified in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's program review letter of Sept. 8, 2000.
Members: John Hoke - DNR Staff Coordinator
