Meet the Water Protection Program Director - John Madras
John Madras is director of the Department of Natural Resources' Water Protection Program. Madras previously managed the department’s major grant from the Environmental Protection Agency, coordinated enforcement, acted as the data quality manager for the department, and assisted in legislation and special projects. Madras worked in the water pollution control program in planning and enforcement, and in the hazardous waste program in CERCLA pre-remedial. Earlier Madras also worked as a planner for East-West Gateway Coordinating Council in St. Louis and as a research specialist in agricultural engineering at Cornell University. Madras is a graduate of Washington University, School of Engineering and Applied Science, and has an MS from Washington State University in Environmental Sciences.
