Missouri Water Quality Festivals
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The grant supports the development of 26 water quality festivals across the state in five different geographical and geological locations. University Extension will develop and implement a series of two types of festivals. One type of festival will target middle school students through school curriculums and festivals and the other type of festival will target all community members through outdoor community festivals of color.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this project are to develop hands-on interactive festivals to increase awareness and understanding of water quality issues, remedies and proactive approaches to land-uses affecting water quality. Additional objectives are to develop opportunities for long-term festival programs and to provide training and resources for people interested in starting festivals.
