Mark Twain IandE Project
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Maintain a public information/education network to support all NPS projects within the Salt River Basin and the Mark Twain Region.
PRODECUTS AND OBJECTIVES
Specific objectives of the information/education network are:
A. Continue to create public awareness on NPS water quality projects and their objectives.
B. Continue to generate public acceptance and ownership of the total initiative.
C. Continue to publicize progress and success stories.
D. Continue to publicize specific BMPs and recommendations emanating from the special projects.
E. Continue to serve as an information "clearinghouse" for the various NPS projects and maintain communications between projects.
Target audiences are: local mass media representatives, public officials,service organizations, soil and water districts, regional planning
commissions, realtors, financial institutions, land owners/operators, publicschools, state and federal agencies, Extension specialists, agricultural
industries, environmental groups and the public at large. Other importantaudiences are youth leaders and teachers, community-service and other
organizations with environmental stewardship plans of work.
