ENVIROSCAPE EDUCATION PROGRAM

The minigrant will fund the purchase of the enviroscape that will be presented
at public events in Livingston and Carroll counties. A survey and
demonstration will be developed as part of an education program that will be
available to public and private organizations for meetings and activities.
The program will also be implemented in the Livingston and Carroll county
schools.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This minigrant will fund the purchase of the enviroscape that will be presented at public events in Livingston and Corrol counties. A survey and demonstration will be developed as part of an educational program that will be available to public and private organizations for meeting and activities. The program will also be implemented in the Livingston and Carrol county schools. Hands-on activities will help students learn how stormwater movement through the surface stream network can be sources of water pollution. Some specific concerns illustrated in this enviroscape include petroleum products, pesticides, fertilizers, animal confinement wastes and sediment. In addition, they will learn how implementation of best management practices can influence water quality as well as the entire ecosystem.

OBJECTIVES

1. Educate 13% of Livingston County residents about Nonpoint Source Pollution.
2. Encourage public and private participation in Nonpoint Source Pollution solutions by making the enviroscape available at meetings and activities
