State Revolving Fund
Additional Assistance
City and county governments, public water districts and public sewer districts may have an opportunity to reduce annual energy costs and save money through an energy efficiency loan program administered by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Energy Center.
These loans are separate from the CWSRF loan and can further help implement projects by developing strategies to maximize energy efficiency. Funds are available to any energy-consuming facility or building owned and operated by a local government, including wastewater collection and treatment systems. The loans are repaid from savings generated by energy efficient capital improvement projects. Loan rates are at a fixed interest rate below market value.
Energy projects that pay back their cost may consist of one or more improvement measures (such as the installation of energy-efficient aerator motors, pumps at lift stations, etc.) and must be capable of paying back the loan in eight years or less. Payback is the cost of the energy project divided by the annual savings in dollars.
A separate application is required to participate in this program. For more information on eligibility, length of payback, and interest rates or to download The Energy Loan Program Information Packet visit the Energy Center at /energy/financial/loan.htm
