The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, accepted a permit-in-lieu of a Total Maximum Daily Load, or PIL, for Horseshoe Creek, WBID 3413, Jackson County.
303(d)-listed pollutants:
- Biochemical oxygen demand.
- Ammonia.
To address the listed pollutants:
Oak Grove Northwest Wastewater Treatment Plant, or WWTP, and Oak Grove South WWTP were closed. A new mechanical WWTP was constructed that does not discharge to Horseshoe Creek.
