Surface Water
Conducting hydrologic investigations, providing agency and public support, and reviewing projects and reports in hydropower, water supply, flood protection, instream flow and drought planning are the major responsibilities of the Water Resources Center.
- inventory the states surface water resources
- produce information on river-reservoir yields and storage capacities
- monitor and evaluate hydrologic conditions during droughts and floods
- examine rainfall, runoff, stream flow, reservior operations, river basins and water resource matters at the interstate, state and regional level
- participate in total maximum daily load (TMDL) studies for 303(d) waterbodies applying water quality and hydrological models
- provide surface water hydrology expertise to the state and public
