Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program Successfully Completes One Year of Testing

OCT. 2, 2008 - The Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program has successfully completed one year of testing. Since Oct. 1, 2007, licensed inspection stations have performed more than 750,000 on-board diagnostics emissions tests at 736 public testing locations in the St. Louis nonattainment area. The department continues to assist area motorists through the process and provide oversight of the repair shops conducting the test. More

New Extension Option Available For St. Louis Area Motorists With Unset Emissions Readiness Monitors

AUG. 28, 2008 - The Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program would like to remind motorists that vehicle "Readiness" is an important step in the emissions testing process. To assist motorists with this step, a new law becomes effective today allowing motorists to operate vehicles for 30 days beyond the vehicle's registration expiration without current registrations for the sole purpose of resetting emissions Readiness monitors to pass the on-board diagnostic emissions test. The Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program Completes First Day of Emissions Testing and Safety Inspections in the St. Louis Area

OCT. 2, 2007 -- The Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program began yesterday in the St. Louis area. By noon today, the program had received 1,669 vehicle test records from 202 licensed auto shops. As of this morning, the state has licensed 269 auto shops to perform on-board diagnostics emissions testing as well as safety inspections for St. Louis area motorists. More
