Land Survey Program

Height Modernization Survey

Volunteers Are Needed for Missouri's Height Modernization Project

The Height Modernization presents a unique opportunity for GPS users to upgrade and densify their local geodetic control network.

What is Required?

Observe Height Modernization stations for a period of time.  The time period will be determined according to the benchmark you recover in your county.

Use geodetic quality dual-frequency receivers with National Geodetic Survey (NGS) "calibrated" antennas and calibrated fixed-height tripods.

Submit vertical mark recovery form, satellite visibility obstruction diagram and updated descriptions to your State Project Coordinator.

How Do I Start?

Recover the benchmark and complete this form or forward benchmark information to Richard Reese, Missouri of Natural Resources, Division of Geology and Land Survey, Land Survey Program, P.O. Box 250, Rolla, MO  65102-0250, phone 573-368-2311, fax 573-368-2379, rick.reese@dnr.mo.gov
