Black medic is native to Eurasia, Africa and is a common weed found throughout Missouri. The plant has bright yellow flowers clustered on short stems that bloom from April to October. Other common names are yellow trefoil, black clover, hop medic and nonesuch. The small fruits of this plant turn black when ripened and look like small kidneys.
