Cheat Grass
Bromus sp.
Cheatgrass is a non-native weedy annual grass, 2 inches to 2 feet tall. Cheatgrass seed germination is staggered from August until May. It has a branched base and is typically rusty-red to purple at maturity. Cheatgrass has rapid spring growth, with seeds maturing within two months of beginning growth. It reproduces from seeds and is an aggressive weed.
