Wild About Flowers

Okay so we have to pull a few weeds once in a while to keep our home looking neat and tidy. But interspersed among the foxtail and dandelion are some beautiful wildflowers that make a noontime hike around the LCSOB well worth the trip for building occupants. The Division of State Parks' Tim Vogt completed a survey of all the wildflowers on site, and the results are truly amazing. A printer friendly list is available that gives the name and scientific name.

For those of you unsure how to recognize Dactylis glomerata, Liquidambar styraciflua and Silpheum terebinthinaceum, Parks suggests a copy of the Missouri Department of Conservation's Missouri Wildflowers by Edgar Denison.
