English Plantain
Plantago lanceolata

English plantain also known as buckhorn plantain or narrow-leaved plantain is native to Europe and reaches a height of 6 to 30 inches. The plant blooms from April to October tipped by a short spike of white flowers. It is very common and probably one of the most familiar weeds in the state. It was used traditionally in a leaf tea to help remedy ailments such as coughs and diarrhea. The leaves were applied to sores to help them heal quicker.
