Long-headed Coneflower
Ratibida columnifera

Long-headed coneflower is a native plant reaching a height of 1 to 3 feet. The plant blooms from June to September. The flowers are yellow (or less common, brownish-purple) rays and dark brown center disk. The blooms attract butterflies. Center disks are dark brown and somewhat resemble in shape the crown of a slender sombrero, hence the additional common name of Mexican hat.
