Queen Anne's lace, also known as wild carrot and bird's nest, was introduced from Europe and grows to a height of 1 to 4 feet. The plant blooms from May to October and has small white flowers in a lacy-looking flat-topped cluster. An Old English superstition is that the small purple flower in the center of the Wild Carrot was beneficial in curing epilepsy.
