Showy Goldenrod
Solidago speciosa

Showy goldenrod is a native plant reaching a height of 2 to 3 feet. The plant blooms from July to September. The blooms are tiny, bright yellow flowers in dense club-shaped clusters. Goldenrods have been wrongly accused of causing hay fever which is actually an allergic reaction to wind-borne pollen from other plants such as ragweed. Showy goldenrod is attractive to bees and butterflies.
