The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for the 2013 Summer Professional Development Program. The Summer Professional Development Program is designed to provide college students with real-life experience working alongside the department’s engineers, scientists, natural resource managers and other professionals. There are paid and unpaid opportunities. Most majors will be considered with special consideration given to: Anthropology, Archaeology, Agriculture, Architecture, Atmospheric Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, GIS/Mapping, Historic Preservation, History, Interpretation, Landscaping, Museum Studies, Natural Resources, Parks & Recreation, Tourism, Accounting, Business Administration and Human Resources.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is a state agency whose mission is to protect, preserve and enhance Missouri’s natural, cultural and energy resources. This mission requires a diverse workforce statewide and includes 87 state parks and historic sites throughout Missouri. Opportunities with the Summer Professional Development Program exist statewide. Students can apply to any or all of the following programs with opportunities: Division of Environmental Quality, Division of State Parks, Division of Energy, and Division of Administrative Services (for non-science majors).
For consideration, please follow the instructions as outlined on the application. Students need only to submit one application and applicable materials. Please allow three to four weeks from deadline for a response. All notifications will be made before May 31, 2013.
