Meeting called to order by Chair Kevin Johnson at 1:12 p.m.

Quorum noted at 1:15. Members present read minutes from May meeting and voiced corrections to Jeff Jaquess. Motion to approve corrected minutes was made and seconded; motion carried. Mr. Jaquess posted corrections (below) to Internet following meeting.

Correction to minutes: $1,100 left in Budget. Some money to pay for Legislative Budget Caucus; some meals included as part of registration. Registration paid for by June 10. Karen Kremer is to have expense accounts entered into SAM II by June 15. Wish List for 2004 sent to Steve Mahfood via e-mail and includes MAC letterhead and envelopes, MAC brochures and color nametag badges with plastic holders, folders for Diversity Conference 2003 and MAC ink pens.

Subcommittee Reports were tabled.

Tom Judge - see handout. Proposed to have nominations and check names if willing to serve before submitting to vote. Vice-Chair automatically moves up if no Chair is available. Byron Murray offered to be Vice-Chair if Kevin Johnson would be Chair. G. Lawson Penny would like new people to be trained as officers. Motion to retain Kevin Johnson if powers that be will allow Mr. Johnson to keep working with MAC. MAC Special Session tabled until June 25th at 1:00 p.m. Manley Lampkin volunteered to Asst. Rec. Sec. Motion to make Lampkin Asst. made, seconded and approved. New officers to be chosen late June 2002.

Lunch and Learn - very well attended on TMDL's on May 31, 2002. Questions were asked in advance to be answered by Cheryl Avant and Wilma Partee. Leave Issues and FMLA/SL/AL discussed at Wilma's lunch and learn.

Joyce Boyd is the new Representative for DAS.

Mr. Penny made motion to have session on Military Leave use and include supervisors that need to know the rules. Wants a DNR career ladder explaining the differences between a Technical Track and Managerial Track.

Legislative Black Caucus - MAC has no money. MAC will pay for Lampkin's unless DSP can pay. If DSP can pay, MAC could pay for someone else. MAC stays cheap at Ramada instead of Chateau on the Lake. DNR/MAC/DSP staff exhibit, tours by boat from the Chateau. Tanya Black may bow out of Caucus. Program includes room and registration; MAC covers meals.
