Enjoy a Victorian Fashion Show May 2 at Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., -- See what was in fashion for ladies and gentlemen during the 1860s at the Victorian Fashion Show Saturday, May 2 at Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site in New Madrid.  Presented by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' historic site staff, the outdoor show will begin at 1 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

What was the appropriate dress for going to town? When did ladies wear hoop skirts? How many layers of clothing were worn? Answers to these questions and other fashion myths from this era will be revealed.  In case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.
