JEFFERSON CITY, MO, --- For his innovative and creative support of the historical presentations at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site, Robert (Bob) Adams has been named May Employee of the Month by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Adams is a Park and Historic Site Specialist with the Division of State Parks.
"I am lucky to work with someone who cares so much for the site," said his supervisor, Victoria Love, natural resource manager at the historic site. "Bob's dedication to the site exceeds my expectations. He is a great ambassador for Missouri's state parks and the Department."
Adams' creativity has resulted in several enhancements at the site. He designed the wine- and beer-making programs, built a trunk the site can use for outreach programming and is currently developing a historical candy-making demonstration. He also researched and created a traditional quilting stand and made clothing to use in his presentations.
"His designs for site enhancements generally allow for much of the work to be done in-house, saving the Division of State Parks hundreds of dollars," said Love. "Bob's research is thorough and his ideas are great for the site."
Adams has worked for the Department since June 2001 and resides in St. Charles.
