JEFFERSON CITY, MO, -- In an effort to ensure that the public has input regarding services provided in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an open house Saturday, June 6, for the section of Katy Trail State Park between Matson and Portland.  The open house will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Katy Trail State Park's trailhead at Matson.

Staff from Graham Cave State Park, which oversees maintenance of this section of Katy Trail State Park, will be on hand to answer questions concerning the park and current operating plans. Park staff recently added gravel to the Dutzow trailhead parking lot and continuously work on trail surface maintenance. Information about volunteer opportunities will be available.

Katy Trail State Park's Matson trailhead is located off of Highway 94 one and one-half miles west of Defiance. Individuals requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling Graham Cave State Park at 573-564-3476 or the department toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
