JEFFERSON CITY, MO., JUNE 24, 2009 – In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services provided in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an open house on Saturday, June 27, for Long Branch State Park near Macon. The open house will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the park's South Shelter House.
Recent accomplishments at Long Branch State Park include the new Long Branch Marina Store, new fueling system for the marina and a new check station to aid campers in registering for campsites at the park. Future plans at the park will also be discussed during the open house. Staff from the park will present an overview of the park and its resources with a question-and-answer session to follow. Visitors are invited to share comments on the park and its facilities.
Long Branch State Park is located two miles west of the U.S. Highway 63 and Highway 36 junction in Macon County. Persons requiring special services or accommodations to attend the open house can make arrangements by calling the park directly at 660-773-5229 or by calling the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
