JEFFERSON CITY, MO., AUG. 5, 2009 – See and learn about birds of prey at the Raptor Awareness Program on Friday, Aug. 14 at Roaring River State Park near Cassville. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the program will begin at 7 p.m. in the park’s amphitheater and is free and open to the public.
The World Bird Sanctuary from St. Louis will bring spectacular raptors of Missouri such as falcons, hawks, owls and vultures to the park for guests to enjoy. You can learn a vulture’s secret weapon, how to identify birds of prey and get an up-close look at some of the birds as they soar right over your head. This program is suited for all ages.
Roaring River State Park is located seven miles south of Cassville on Highway 112.
