JEFFERSON CITY, MO., -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting Saturday, Aug. 29, at Big Lake State Park in Craig. The informational meeting will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in the park's picnic shelter and is open to the public.
Recent accomplishments at the park and future plans will be highlighted during the informational meeting. Projects completed at the park this year include repairs to the open shelter, roofing buildings in the shop area, and expanded services at the concession operation to include a convenience store with a variety of rental boats. Park staff also completed cleanup from a major winter ice storm and spring flooding that affected the area earlier this year. Visitors are invited to share comments on the park's services and operations.
Big Lake State Park is located 11 miles south of Mound City on Highway 111. Persons requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the park directly at 660-442-3770 or by calling the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
