JEFFERSON CITY, MO., -- Investigate the night sky at a stargazing event on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site in Lexington. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the event will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The evening will begin with an astronomy program by the Kansas City Astronomy Society in the theater inside the historic site's visitor center. Following the program, visitors will depart to the top of the battlefield for stargazing from dusk to 10 p.m. In the event of rain, the program inside the visitor center will still be presented.
