JEFFERSON CITY, MO., -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting on Friday, Sept. 4, at Finger Lakes State Park near Columbia. The informational meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the park's contact station and is open to the public.
Recent accomplishments at the park and future plans will be highlighted during the meeting. Information will be provided on the status of the primary access trail project and the upcoming project to improve the parking lot at the motocross track, which is funded through the federal Recreational Trails Project grant. Visitors will have the opportunity to give input on the future of the concession building located in the motocross area. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the Department has included the sale of ice and soda at the contact station. Visitors are invited to share comments on these improvements and future plans as well as the park's other services and operations.
Finger Lakes State Park is located 10 miles north of Columbia off Highway 63 on East Peabody Road in Boone County. Persons requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the park at 573-443-5315 or by calling the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
