Missouri Clean Water Commission to discuss pollution reducing measures, citizens encouraged to attend

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- The Missouri Clean Water Commission will hold a public meeting at 9 a.m. on Sept. 2 at University Plaza Hotel, 333 John Q. Hammons Parkway in Springfield.

At this meeting, the Clean Water Commission will conduct a public hearing on an amendment to 10 CSR 20-4.040, State Revolving Fund General Assistance Regulations.

Other items on the agenda include routine reports from Department of Natural Resources' staff regarding permits, operations and enforcement actions. Citizens will have an opportunity to address the commission during open session.

The agenda also includes an update by Department staff on the Intended Use Plans for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund for state fiscal year 2010 and the Transform Missouri -- American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Intended Use Plan is prepared each year to identify the intended uses of the funds available to the Clean Water State Revolving Fund and describes how these uses support the goals of the program. The source of any funds expected to be received during the year is identified in the plan, as well as the recipients of funds expected to be disbursed.

The Department of Natural Resources requests people intending to give verbal presentations on the proposed public hearing item also provide a written copy of their comments to the commission secretary at the time of the public hearing.
