Public invited to share ideas during an informational meeting regarding Trail of Tears State Park

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting Saturday, Sept. 19, at Trail of Tears State Park near Cape Girardeau. The informational meeting will be begin at 2 p.m. in the park's visitor center and is open to the public.
Recent accomplishments at the park include the replaced sidewalk in front of the visitor center and a new playground. These improvements, the current project to replace culverts on Moccasin Springs Road and future plans will be highlighted during the informational meeting. Visitors are invited to share comments on the park's services and operations.
Trail of Tears State Park is located 12 miles north of Cape Girardeau off Highway 177.
