JEFFERSON CITY, MO., SEPT. 18, 2009 -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Weston Bend State Park near Weston. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bee Creek Shelter House and is open to the public.
Representatives from the park will provide information on future plans for park and answer questions. Visitors are invited to share comments and suggestions about the park. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the Department replaced the roof on the interpretive tobacco barn and developed a picnic area near the Weston Bluffs Trail
The Bee Creek Shelter House is located just off Highway 45 approximately one-half mile south of the main entrance to Weston Bend State Park, which is about two miles south of Weston. Persons requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the site directly at 816-640-5443 or by calling the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
