JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an open house Saturday, Oct. 10, at Hawn State Park near Ste. Genevieve.
The open house will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the park's amphitheater and the public is invited.
Staff from the park will be on hand to provide information about the park and to answer questions. Changes to park trails and the new campground registration system will be discussed. The public is invited to comment on the park and its facilities. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the Department has improved access and safety in the park by creating connector trails between White Oaks Trail and Whispering Pines Trail.
Hawn State Park is located off Highway 144, 20 miles west of Ste. Genevieve in Ste. Genevieve County. The amphitheater is located in the campground. Persons requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the park directly at 573-883-3603 or the Department toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
