JEFFERSON CITY MO, OCT. 2, 2009 -- Acting DNR Director Bill Bryan announced today that two department employees have been placed on administrative leave without pay for five days.  This action is based on initial findings from an ongoing investigation into the department's failure to close beaches in May, following samplings that showed high levels of E. coli bacteria.

The department is prohibited from public disclosure of information regarding the identity of the employees, or any other details of the action, as these are personnel matters.
