JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Mastodon State Historic Site in Imperial. The meeting will also address Sandy Creek Covered Bridge State Historic Site in Goldman and Gov. Daniel Dunklin's Grave State Historic Site in Herculaneum. The meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mastodon State Historic Site's museum auditorium and is open to the pubic.
Staff from the historic sites will present information about the sites' operations, resource management and recreational developments. The agenda will include a summary of the activities during 2009 and future plans for the three sites. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the Department has introduced a new orientation video for Mastodon State Historic Site and is in the process of improving the current museum exhibits.
Mastodon State Historic Site is located at 1050 Charles J Becker Drive (formerly Museum Drive) in Imperial. Persons requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the historic site at 636-464-2976 or the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
