JEFFERSON CITY, MO., NOV. 13, 2009 - In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an open house on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Missouri Mines State Historic Site in Park Hills. The open house, which will be for St. Joe State Park and Missouri Mines State Historic Site, will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
Representatives from the park and historic site will highlight recent accomplishments at the facilities. Visitors are invited to share comments and suggestions about both facilities. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the department recently renovated Pim and Monsanto beaches at St. Joe State Park and completed projects to expand Missouri Mines State Historic Site's machinery gallery.
Missouri Mines State Historic Site is located on Highway 32 in Park Hills. Persons requiring special services or accommodations to attend the open house can make arrangements by calling the historic site directly at 573-431-6226 or by calling the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
