JEFFERSON CITY, MO., NOV. 24, 2009 -- Piano music will resound throughout the Anderson House on Sunday, Dec. 6 at the Battle of Lexington State Historic Site in Lexington. The piano recital is part of an open house sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources that will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
During the open house, Friends of the Anderson House will receive visitors into the holiday-decorated Anderson House. Visitors can enjoy conversations about events that took place during the mid-19th century and taste Victorian-era refreshments. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Spencer Huston, a pianist and teacher at the University of Missouri -- Kansas City's (UMKC) Conservatory of Music, will present the piano recital.
Huston has a master's degree in music for piano performance from UMKC's Conservatory of Music. He remains an active performer with frequent performances in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
