Media Advisory: DNR, DED and Monroe County Public Water Supply District #2 host groundbreaking ceremony for new 100,000 gallon drinking water storage tank

WHO: Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Director Mark N. Templeton, Department of Economic Development’s Deputy Director Mike Downing and the Monroe County Public Water Supply District #2.

WHAT: Media event to break ground on drinking water improvements made as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and DED’s Community Development Block Grant.

WHEN: March 19 from 10 to 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: Monroe County Public Water Supply District #2 located at 23504 Highway 24 in Paris.  

WHY: The Department of Natural Resources awarded Monroe County PWSD #2 with a Recovery Act State Revolving Fund $1,065,250 grant, a $1,065,200 loan and a $310,103 Rural Water grant to make necessary drinking water improvements to the facility.  In addition, the Department of Economic Development provided a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant to the district. The improvements will include a new 100,000 gallon elevated storage tank, pump station, distribution system improvements and new water meters.
