MAY 4, 2010
WHO: Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Director Mark N. Templeton.
WHAT: Media event to recognize Energize Missouri Appliance Rebate Program.
WHEN: Thursday, May 6 from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: Home Depot, 390 Thf Blvd. in Chesterfield.
WHY: Director Templeton will visit Home Depot in Chesterfield participating in the department’s Energize Missouri Appliance Rebate Program. To date, there is more than $3 million in rebates available for consumers to reserve. The director will also talk about how consumers can maximize their savings by combining the state rebate with local utility rebates. Rebates will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis until all rebates funding is depleted.
Missouri residents who are 18 years of age or older will be eligible to receive rebates up to $575 on ENERGY STARâ-qualified appliances, which include clothes washers, dishwashers, air source heat pumps, gas furnaces, central air conditioning, gas water heaters, electric water heaters and solar water heaters. ENERGY STAR appliances are designed to use 10 to 50 percent less energy than standard appliances, resulting in saving for the consumer, as well as reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and pollutants. Consumers must purchase their ENERGY STAR appliance from an approved retailer or installation contractor participating as a partner in the program.
