Land Reclamation Commission to discuss hearing request for Jasper County mining permit application

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 26, 2010 -- The Missouri Land Reclamation Commission will meet May 27 in Jefferson City to discuss a hearing request on a Jasper County limestone quarry application.
The commission has received a request for a hearing on the permit application of Jasper Stone LLC, located in Jasper and Barton Counties, for a limestone quarry consisting of a 331-acre mine plan boundary.
The commission will be determining whether to schedule a formal hearing on the permit request at a later date. If the request is not approved, then the commission could take up the issue of the actual permit at this meeting.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Nightingale Creek Conference Room inside the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Dr.
The commission will also be discussing mining permitting, reclamation activities and mining enforcement.
