JEFFERSON CITY, MO, NOV. 2, 2010 - The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded the city of Meadville, in Linn County, a $323,400 grant and $622,700 loan to finance drinking water improvements.

The city will use the funds to finance water main replacements, treatment plant improvements and an emergency connection to Linn-Livingston Public Water Supply District #3.  The funds will be used in conjunction with grant funds from the Department of Economic Development Community Development Block Grant Program. The project is estimated to cost $1.45 million and is expected to be completed in August 2011.
