Informational meeting planned Nov. 20 for Confederate Memorial State Historic Site

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, NOV. 15, 2010-- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting on Saturday, Nov. 20 to discuss issues related to Confederate Memorial State Historic Site in Higginsville. The meeting will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the site’s chapel and the public is invited to attend.
Recent accomplishments at the site and future plans will be highlighted during the informational meeting. The agenda will include discussion of the improvements being made in the park, future projects, involvement in various regional tourism initiatives and impact of the State Parks Youth Corps program. Visitors are invited to share comments on the site’s services and operation.
This informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure citizens have input on facilities and services offered in state parks and historic sites.
Confederate Memorial State Historic Site is located one mile north of Higginsville on Business Highway 13.
