JEFFERSON CITY, MO., NOV. 15, 2010 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is seeking public input on future development plans being proposed for Pomme de Terre State Park in Hickory County. The plan will be available online and at the park office for review from Nov. 12 until Nov. 26.
The plan reflects input gathered at a public meeting in June and online in July and was developed by staff in the department’s Division of State Parks. Conceptual development plans will direct future long-range development for the park. One example of possible future idea is the development of yurts, circular structures with a fabric cover and wooden frame, for addition in the campground.
The plan will be available Nov. 12 at mostateparks.com/pommedeterre/plans.htm. The public will be able to comment online by emailing the Department of Natural Resources at firstname.lastname@example.org. The public can also make comments to staff when viewing the plan at the park office. The comment period will go through Nov. 26.
The opportunity to review the plan is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure the public has input on services offered in state parks and historic sites.
The office at Pomme de Terre State Park is located on Highway 64B near Pittsburg. For more information, contact the park at 417-852-4291. For information on state parks and historic sites, visit mostateparks.com.
