WHAT: Media event to recognize Energize Missouri Renewable Energy Biogas Grant Program
WHEN: Wednesday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m.
WHERE: Hampton Feedlot; 23551 Highway 11 Triplett in Chariton County.
WHY: Director Pauley will visit Hampton Feedlot Inc. to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony to build one of the first renewable energy projects in Missouri using animal waste. Hampton Feedlot received a $450,000 subgrant under the department’s Energize Missouri Renewable Energy Biogas Grant Program for this project. The grant will help fund the installation of an anaerobic digester at the facility. The Renewable Biogas Program was designed to support agricultural and industrial projects that use anaerobic digestion-to-energy systems and landfill biogas-to-energy projects to produce biopower, bioheat or other forms of bioenergy. This project fosters Governor Nixon’s vision of using green innovative technology to improve the environment, help create jobs and stimulate Missouri’s economy.
