Volunteer Work Day planned April 2 at Crowder State Park

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., MARCH 28, 2011 -- Have you ever wanted to volunteer at a state park? Do you enjoy talking with and meeting new people? Would you like to improve the park for all visitors? April is National Volunteer Month and you have the chance to learn about volunteer opportunities on April 2 at Crowder State Park near Trenton. This Volunteer Work Day and Orientation will begin at 9 a.m. in the Recreation Hall at Camp Grand River within the park and is open to the public.
Staff will discuss special events that will be held at Crowder State Park that volunteers are invited to assist with throughout the year. There will also be a discussion about volunteer paperwork. After the orientation, participants will break into small groups to work on various projects throughout the park.
