Celebrate Van Meter State Parks 80th anniversary

The public is invited to bring their ideas to an informational meeting and celebration of Van Meter State Park’s 80th anniversary on Sunday, April 15. The informational meeting will begin at 2 p.m. in Missouri’s American Indian Cultural Center.
A review of park accomplishments and future plans will be highlighted during the informational meeting. Activities are free and open to the public. Visitors are invited to share comments on the park’s services and operations, as well as memories from past park visits. Cake will be served to celebrate the anniversary.
This 80th anniversary celebration and informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure citizens have input on facilities and services offered in state parks and historic sites.
Van Meter State Park is located 12 miles northwest of Marshall on Highway 122 in Saline County.
