Missouri Department of Natural Resources awards low-interest loan to Hartville for wastewater improvements

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources awarded a $100,000 loan to the Wright County town of Hartville to make improvements to its wastewater system, including construction of a new duplex lift station, installation of new flow metering equipment and replacement of 1,000 feet of force main sewer line.
The loan will be financed through repayments of loans made from State Water Pollution bond proceeds. The funds will be used in conjunction with a $134,000 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grant, with all remaining funds provided by the city. The total project is estimated to cost $237,563 and is expected to be completed in September 2012.
The Department of Natural Resources’ Water Protection Program will administer the loan funds. The department is committed to working closely with communities to assist with funding efforts that support water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects as well as provide a financial savings.
