Missouri State Parks hosts Homestead Days Oct. 20-21 at Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site

Experience history as it unfolds at the Nathan Boone Homestead Days Festival Oct. 20-21 at Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site near Ash Grove. This living history festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event is free and the public is invited to attend.
The Homestead Days Festival will include demonstrations of frontier life in the Ozarks and 19th century crafts. Historical interpreters will tell stories of the Boone family and their connection to the Missouri Ozarks. The festival will feature live traditional music on both days and several food vendors will be available.
In conjunction with Homestead Days, organizations in Ash Grove will offer a variety of activities on Main Street throughout the weekend.
Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site is located 1.5 miles north of Ash Grove on Highway V. The historic site preserves the last home and resting place of Col. Nathan Boone.
