Informational meeting for two Northeast Missouri state historic sites Nov. 18

The public is invited to bring their ideas to an informational meeting on the Battle of Athens and Iliniwek Village State Historic Sites on Monday, Nov. 18. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the site residence at the Battle of Athens State Historic Site.

Representatives from the site will provide information on current and future plans for both facilities and answer questions. Agenda items will include the improvements to the Battle of Athens State Historic Site as well as issues pertaining to Iliniwek Village State Historic Site. Visitors are invited to offer feedback and suggestions about the sites.

The site residence of the Battle of Athens State Historic Site is located 13 miles north of Kahoka on highway 81, then 4 miles east on CC. Individuals requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the site directly at 660-877-3871.
