"Show Me the Fair" exhibit opens at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site March 1

Jefferson City, Mo. - The Missouri State Museum will open a new exhibit in the Rozier Gallery at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site titled “Show Me the Fair: Souvenirs and Remembrances of the 1904 World's Fair.” Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the exhibit will showcase selections of the museum’s extensive collection of St. Louis World’s Fair memorabilia. The exhibit will run through Aug. 30.

From April 30 to Dec. 1, 1904, the Show-Me State showed off. Travelers visited St. Louis to marvel at innovations and inventions from around the world. To remember their trip to the 1200-acre fair, visitors bought and brought home all manner of keepsakes. Visitors will get a look at the trinkets and tales of the fair through the photographs, quotes and mementos on display. The museum will also present special programming related to the exhibit on various dates while the exhibit is on display.

The Elizabeth Rozier Gallery is located in the Union Hotel at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, 101 Jefferson St., Jefferson City.
